When there is humour, there is darkness. Where there is perfection, there is obsession.
ITINERIS presents its AW17 Collection by paying homage to ‘The Greatest of All Clowns’, Buster Keaton. As of the most influential Actor-Directors of our time, Keaton was masterful in his art. Deadpan comedy, black and white silent films, one shot gags - his creativity ability would go on to influence generations of filmmakers.
Designer, Marco Vedovato, was drawn to Keaton’s originality and the many hats that he wore. His ability to bring characters, scenarios and situations into life as well as playing the lead role in his stoic way is truly admirable. Vedovato has the highest regard for original design, meaningful details, authentic fabrics and understanding the various moving parts that develops into one grand picture. In his lead role, ITINERIS introduces the ‘Humour in Geometry’ AW17 Collection.
It must be noted that Keaton had an incredible talent in creating frames of interest - every shot was calculated and considered. He found the ‘humour in geometry’ and would never fake a gag. In the same vein, every Itineris collection is carefully created. Vedovato is renowned for his focus on the fabric, cutting and details. Mediocre designs never make it to the rack. The starring fabric in this collection is the wool based double fabric with subtle stripe effect, crafted with slub linen yarn - designed exclusively by Vedovato.
Influenced by the gritty 1920s Buster Keaton era, the AW17 season sees workwear and military style in the spotlight. Key pieces of the collection include:
